Student Arrival in Fremantle

Today our students arrived. (We have been placed in charge of 22 wonderful students from College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, who are on a semester abroad program here in Fremantle.) It was wonderful to experience their excitement at this new place. They were of course all very tired when they arrived (except for the three who had arrived early and had a couple of days in the youth hostel to catch up on their sleep) but I am impressed by their positive attitudes and good naturedness even when deprived of copious hours of sleep.

We got pizzas from nearby and had our first orientation session (of many to come.) It has gotten fairly cold today, so they arrived to a rather cool hotel. Tomorrow we will have them over for a light brunch and then Monday the University will do their "o" week and keep them very busy getting acclimated and oriented.

Brad their Resident Advisor (seen below) is very good, knows all the answers and no doubt is saving us lots of frustration and running around looking for answers time.

Brad is an ex-cop from Brisbane with lots of common sense and experience. He has given the students great advice and are already very confident in his abilities as guardian and advisor.

From the looks of things, this should be a really great semester abroad for all of us.

You have lovely children. Do I see a girl amidst all those boys?

Yes, we have 8 women out of 22, and they will be duly imaged. I simply chose the most interesting pictures (aesthetically!!!) Harrumph!
